Continuous Improvement and Process R & D
The Laser Gas Analyzer is a versatile research tool that can be
used for real-time study of a variety of processes with gases as
inputs, intermediate products, end products and by-products.
Optical filter and sensor combinations have been formulated for
more than 100 gas molecules. At the time an LGA is ordered customers
select the eight gases they need to monitor and/or control.
With the addition of inputs from optional pressure and
temperature sensors and sampling once per second, the data logging
function of the LGA's computer is capable of capturing concurrently
the relevant attributes of gas-based chemical reaction
processes.
New insights can be possible for processes that have been little
more than "black boxes" due to the costs and limitations of prior
analytical methods.
The Laser Gas Analyzer can perform complete gas analysis not
possible from gas chromatographs, mass spectrometers and IR sensors.
And test data can be recorded and interpreted in minutes rather than
hours.
Processes controlled by the LGA can be adjusted on-the-fly with
immediate feedback of results, rather than requiring discrete test
runs under varied experimental conditions. This makes the LGA an
advantageous tool for high speed exploration of the problem spaces
of continuous industrial process improvement research studies.
Atmosphere Recovery is affiliated with application development
partners for process improvement in the heat treating and
pharmaceutical (fermentation) industries.
